This allows both: an accelerated design schedule since the engineers are not slowed down waiting for the third-party to catch up, and also allows our engineers to fix any fit issues on the fly without third party approvals. CUSTOM DESIGNS AVAILABLE
Headwater has designed some of the heaviest lift BOP handling systems in the North America. Our overhead BOP trolleys are field proven up to 120,000lb. However, adding loads to a substructure must be done carefully by experienced engineers. Headwater has the skills and experience to know what components need to be reviewed and which members need to be upgraded to safely handle the additional loads. So if you have a 10k or 15k stack Headwater can design and build you a complete overhead BOP handling solution.
If an overhead BOP handling system is not feasible or does not fit your timeline, Headwater can also design a skid mounted BOP handler for any brand or stack up configuration of blow out preventor.
Moving drill pipe, casing, and collars to and from the drill floor can be a time consuming and dangerous operation. Headwater has stock designs for range 2 and range 3 skate style catwalks for land drilling rigs that can accommodate up to an 20ft drill floor. If your rig has an elevating drill floor or is on high pony subs Headwater also has stock designs for shuttle style pipe handlers.
For pipe handling on an offshore rig, often a standard skate system works great. However, some rigs require a customised solution. Headwater has designed an innovative pipe handling system that is capable of handling up to five joints of 5 1/2in drill pipe at a time. Headwater has designed API 8C travelling blocks with up to 500T capacity. Our designs focus on reducing welding and machining time and using off-the-shelf components whenever feasible. Each of our travelling blocks are pull tested to the customers requirements.
